Lady Rams Finish 2nd at Regional Tourney

FT. GAINES, Ga -- The University of Mobile women's golf team finished in 2nd place at this weekend's Region XII/XIII Tournament.

Only two teams really had a chance to win the tournament as 3rd place Spring Hill finished 125 strokes out of 1st, but unfortunately for the Lady Rams, the Berry College Lady Vikings carded solid scores in each of the 3 rounds en route to the the tournament victory. The Lady Vikings shot 308 and 307 on the first 2 rounds, before finishing with a 315.

Mobile finished 46 strokes back of the Lady Vikings 930 stroke total, after shooting 333, 323 and 320 over the weekend. The two squads provided 9 of the top 10 individual leaders, led by Berry’s Jayne Curtis and Elizabeth Gemmill at 9 and 10 over par, respectively.

The Lady Rams were led by Maegan Rice, who finished 3rd with a weekend total of 237, while Carlie Bloomer tied for 4th by shooting a 242. Kelly Rainbolt, Meghan Dove, and Samantha Goettsch rounded out the group with a 247, 252 and 253, respectively.
