Lady Rams Finish Nationals in 11th Place

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The University of Mobile women’s golf team finished 11th at the 2007 NAIA National Championships.

The Lady Rams were only 5 strokes behind and in 5th place after Day 1, but through the final 3 rounds, they slowly drifted back to the pack and Oklahoma City won the championship with a 4-round total of 1237.

The University of Mobile finished with a tournament total of 1305. Maegan Rice led the way for Mobile to shoot a 312 to place 9th amongst individual scores. She fired a 2-over par final round. Kelly Rainbolt shot a 323, Samantha Goettsch carded a 330, Carlie Bloomer shot a 341 and Meghan Dove finished with a 364 over the 4 rounds of play.

Lady Rams in 12th With 1 Round Left

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Following Day 3 of the 2007 NAIA Women’s Golf National Championships, the University of Mobile women’s golf team finds themselves in 12th place.

Oklahoma City has built up a 12 stroke lead to take 1st place by themselves after carding a 3-round score of 931. Lindsey Wilson sits in 2nd place with a 943.

The Lady Rams of the University of Mobile have shot a collective 982 in the tournament which will wrap up Friday. Maegan Rice leads the way for Mobile with a stroke total of 238, while Kelly Rainbolt has shot a 242 over the 3 days. Samantha Goettsch has shot a 250, Carlie Bloomer has a 3-round total of 252 and Meghan Dove rounds out the group with a 276.

Mobile in 8th After 2nd Day at Nationals

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Following Day 2 of the 2007 NAIA Women’s Golf National Championships, the University of Mobile women’s golf team finds themselves in 8th place with 2 more rounds to go.

Oklahoma City and British Columbia find themselves in a tie for 1st after each team shot a collective 624 over the first 2 rounds. The Lady Rams have fallen to 17 strokes behind the leaders after carding a 641 through the first 2 days.

Kelly Rainbolt is 7th amongst individuals with a 153, Maegan Rice is 11th with a 156, Samantha Goettsch has shot a 163, Carlie Bloomer has shot a 169 and Meghan Dove rounds out the group with a 187 through 2 rounds of play. Mobile is only 10 strokes behind 3rd place Rocky Mountain.

Lady Rams Only 5 Off the Pace After 1 Round

SAN MARCOS, Calif—After one day of play at the 2007 NAIA Women’s Golf National Championships, the University of Mobile Lady Rams find themselves in 5th place and only 5 strokes off the pace.

Oklahoma City and British Columbia find themselves tied for 1st after carding round-1 scores of 314, while the Lady Rams shot a collective 319 to finish 31 strokes over par.

Kelly Rainbolt is leading the way for Mobile, after firing a 75 in the opening round to place 4th amongst individual scores. Maegan Rice finished with a 78, Samantha Goettsch shot an 82, Carlie Bloomer shot a 84, and Meghan Dove rounded out the group with a 97.

Women's Golf Earns Bid to National Tournament

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's golf program earned a bid to the 2007 NAIA National Championships.

The women's golf team earned an at-large bid to join the field of 23 that will begin play May 15-18 at San Diego’s Lake San Marcos Country Club. The Lady Rams earned their at-large bid thanks in large part to their #11 position in the latest NAIA-Top 25 poll released May 6th.

Mobile has been to the illustrious field every season of competition and this marks the 14th trip. In their most recent event, the Lady Rams finished 2nd to Berry College at the Region XIII Tournament in Fort Gaines, Florida.
