Lady Rams Heading To National Championship

MOBILE, Ala-- The 13th-ranked University of Mobile women's golf team learned Friday that its streak of National Championship appearances will be kept alive as the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics released the qualifiers for the 2008 NAIA Women's Golf National Championship.

Mobile has been to the elite field all 15 years of competition now, winning the National Title in 1998 and finishing 11th last season.

The Lady Rams made the field as one of ten at-large teams, joining California Baptist, Concordia (Ore.), Lewis-Clark State (Idaho), Lubbock Christian (Texas), Rocky Mountain (Mont.), SCAD (Ga.), Shorter (Ga.), Southern Nazarene (Okla.) and Victoria (B.C.).

Berry (Ga.), Bethel (Ind.), British Columbia, California-San Marcos, Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.), Embry-Riddle (Fla.), Lindsey Wilson (Ky.), Malone (Ohio), Oklahoma City, Park (Mo.), St. Ambrose (Iowa), Tennessee Wesleyan and William Woods (Mo.) all received an automatic bid after winning their respective region tournaments.

The tournament will be held at Lake San Marcos Country Club in San Diego, Calif., May 20-23, 2008. Mobile has eight Top-10 finishes at Nationals, including six Top-5 finishes.
