Rice Named All-American Again

MOBILE, Ala-- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics released the 2008 NAIA Women's Golf All-American list, and the University of Mobile's Maegan Rice made the list for the second-straight season.

Rice is one of 15 players selected as an Honorable Mention All-American, and one of 30 between the Honorable Mention and 1st-Team list. The sophomore from Florence, AL was named a 1st-Team AA last season.

This year, Rice and the Lady Rams earned a #13 ranking in the final NAIA Top-25 and competed at the NAIA National Championships for the 15th-straight season. She earned nine Top-5 finishes on the season and won two events.

Rice finished 2nd at the Region XIII Tournament this season with a 14-over par 230, finished tied for 4th at the University of Montevallo Spring Classic with a 16-over par 158, won the Spring Hill Invitational with an 18-over par 162, finished 2nd at the UM Fall Classic with a 9-over 153, won the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament with a 10-over par 154, finished 3rd at the Stonebridge Women's Invite with a 6-over par 150, finished 2nd at the Lady Trojan Fall Classic with an 8-over 152, finished 4th at the Western Carolina Invite with a 1-over par 145, and finished 3rd at the Bubba Watson Invitational with a 14-over par 158.

She also finished 23rd at the Embry-Riddle Bash at the Beach with a 16-over 158 and finished 21st at the Birmingham Southern Invite.
