Lady Rams Finish Season-Opening Tournament

Cullowhee, N.C.-- The UM women's golf team finished the 10th-annual Great Smokies Women's Intercollegiate Golf Tournament in 21st place Tuesday.

Mobile followed up an opening-round 329 with a final round score of 323 to finish 73 strokes behind tournament champ Western Carolina University. Erika Lundberg paced the Lady Rams by shooting a 74 on the final day to finish 6-over-par at 150. Maegan Rice also shot a final-round 74 to finish 9-over-par and 52nd overall.

Lindsey Miller finished with a 165 for the tournament, Taylor Lee carded a 181 and Abbie Harris rounded out the Mobile golfers with a 190.

The Lady Rams will next compete at the Lady Trojan Fall Classic October 6-7 in Nashville, TN.

Host Western Carolina University holds down the top spot after the first day, shooting a 284, including 3 golfers under-par. Mobile is tied for 21st with the Citadel after both schools shot a 329.

The Lady Rams were led by newcomer Erika Lundberg's 76. Two-time NAIA All-American Maegan Rice is tied for 74th after day one after shooting a 79. Lindsey Miller is four strokes behind Rice with an 83, while teammates Taylor Lee and Abbie Harris both shot 91's.
