Lady Rams Sign Pair for 2008-09
MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's soccer team announced the signing of Rebekah Grippa and Ashley Lachappelle for the 2008-09 season.
Lachappelle comes from San Antonio, TX where she played soccer and ran track at Ronald Reagan High School. She was named the captain of her high school soccer team and plans to major in nursing.
"We are very excited about bringing in Ashley," Head Coach Brian Person said. "She brings a lot of athletic ability and good size to win head balls. We are looking for her to play in the back and make an impact right away."
Person went on to say that Lachappelle is also a great fit off the field, as she possesses the same Christian values the University of Mobile is centered around.
Bekah Grippa will come to Mobile from Athens High School in Athens, Ohio. In high school, Grippa lettered in soccer, basketball and track. She was the team leader in both scoring and assists two of the four years on the team, and led in assists for a third season.
"One of the things we are trying to do is improve our team's athletic ability and Bekah fits that," Person said. "We are looking for her to come in and improve quickly, while contributing as a forward or wide midfield player." |
