Lady Rams Sign Pair For 2009 Season

MOBILE, Ala—The University of Mobile women’s soccer program announced the signing of two players for the 2009 season. Mobile inked Fairhope, Ala. native Elisabeth Davis and Austin, Texas native Kalia Jones.

Davis played at Bayside High School, and Mobile Head Coach Brian Person expects her to help the Lady Rams in all areas.

“She is the total package,” Person said. “She can play, she’s a good student, and she has a great attitude and work ethic. We expect her to thrive on and off the field.”

She will likely play in the defensive central midfield and will help create valuable depth that the team has lacked the last couple of seasons.

While the coaches have not seen Jones play, they are confident she will fit in well after meeting her and her parents.

“We know she’ll fit in off the field, which is more important than playing ability,” Person said.

She brings a background in high school and club soccer and will add additional depth for the team.

Mobile will open the 2009 season at home August 28 at 5:00 pm versus Brenau.
