Lady Rams Round Out Coaching Staff

MOBILE, Ala—The University of Mobile has announced a pair of additions to the women’s soccer coaching staff for the 2007 season.

The Rams have added Kevin Laux and Joel Person to Head Coach Brian Person’s coaching staff. Both men have ties to the University of Mobile and were members of the University of Mobile’s 2002 men’s soccer National Championship team.

Laux got a B.S in psychology from Mobile and won the Champions of Character award in 2004, while with the Rams’ soccer team. The former graduate assistant for the Spring Hill soccer program is excited to be back with the Rams.

“It feels great to be back at my alma mater, and I know I’ll be part of something special here,” Laux said.

Brian Person said that Laux’s playing and coaching experience, work ethic and spiritual background combined to provide a great fit for the program, and the 2005 UM graduate will be relied upon heavily to recruit in his first year.

Joel Person will come on in a part-time role and will be mostly involved in the on-field coaching and recruiting for the Lady Rams. Person was a graduate assistant for the 2002 University of Mobile men’s soccer National Championship team and has served as head coach of the UMS Wright varsity soccer team for the past 3 seasons. He also has his USSF B License, National Youth License, and semi-pro playing experience.

“I’m really pleased to be able to work with Brian and Kevin, and I’m very confident we’ll be a national power very soon,” Joel said.
