Lady Rams Out-Scored 9-1 Over Two Game Stretch
MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's soccer team knew this season was going to be a rebuilding process, and they got another tough lesson, losing 3-1 at Covenant College Thursday and then dropping a 6-0 decision to #2 Lindsey Wilson College Friday night.
Thursday, the Lady Rams ran into an undefeated Covenant College squad, but took a 1-0 lead into half-time thanks to a goal from Anna Ellingsen. Unfortunately for the Lady Rams, Covenant's Kalie Estrada led a second-half surge, scoring 2 of the Lady Scots 3 goals for the 3-1 win.
Friday, things did not get any easier for Mobile, as the team ran into a talented Lindsey Wilson squad, and the Blue Raiders reminded the Lady Rams of their talent early and often by attacking all game long and finishing with a 6-0 victory.
The Blue Raiders tallied 14 shots in each half and finished the game with a 17-0 edge in shots on goal, putting the pressure on UM goalkeeper Susanne Klungtveit.
The freshman keeper tallied 11 saves, but with the constant pressure, Lindsey Wilson still scored 6 goals for the easy win.
Mobile falls to 1-5 on the season and next plays at West Florida on September 12th for a 7:30 pm start.
