Lady Rams claim huge victory over Region XIII foe

MOBILE, Ala-- One day after moving into the Top-25 at # 25, the University of Mobile Lady Rams' soccer team went top shelf twice to take down #10 Auburn-Montgomery Thursday night.

After falling behind just 4:30 into the game, sophomore Lauren Thomson and senior Kelly Baltieri answered the bell for Mobile.

In the 13th minute, Thomson set up 5 yards outside the box and knocked a pass from Anna Ellingsen over the goalkeeper and just below the crossbar to tie the game at 1 apiece. 12 minutes later, Baltieri unleashed a rocket from 30 yards away that again made it over the leaping goalkeeper.

Both teams had a few chances in the second half, but the defenses were up to the challenge. Mobile goalkeeper Inga Johannesdottir finished the game with 5 saves and stopped numerous crosses that could have led to goal scoring opportunities.

Mobile finished the match with 12 shots to AUM's 14. Both teams had 6 shots on goal. The Lady Rams travel to Reinhardt this Saturday.
