Lady Rams take down William Carey for 7th win
MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile Lady Rams' soccer squad moved to 7-2 on the season and 3-0 in GCAC play with a 5-1 victory over visiting William Carey.
William Carey stayed on the offensive for much of the first half, but failed to turn the penetration into productive shots. Mobile out shot the Lady Crusaders 8-3 in the half, but only one shot was a real threat.
That was Kelly Baltieri's blast from the corner of the box that served as the only first half score for either team. Lauren Thomson gave the Lady Rams some breathing room just 3 minutes into the second half and Anna Ellingsen followed suite 13 minutes later when she put a rebound into the back of the net.
Leading 3-0, Thomson sent a long ball down the field and freshman Camilla Hovden headed it home. 1 minute later, Baltieri added her second goal with a 25 yard rocket through a crowded box and into the net.
The Lady Rams return to the field Friday September 29th versus GCAC opponent Loyola University.
