Aske scores 4 goals in 10-0 route of William
Carey; Logan scores game-winning goal in OT to lift Rams to win
HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The no. 11-ranked University of
Mobile women's soccer team (5-2) got four goals from the team's leading
goal scorer, Hege Aske, as the Rams rolled to a 10-0 victory Tuesday
night
over William Carey College in Hattiesburg. In the late game, Dean
Logan scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lift Mobile to a thrilling
3-2 overtime victory.
"We came out on fire from the start," said UM
women's head soccer coach Uwe Tittl. "We came out with a lot of
intensity and never let up. We got up early on them and never stopped
fighting. The girls played a great game tonight.
Aske led the Rams' attack with four goals and two assists
while Evelina Viiri and Lene Bjerkelli had two goals a piece. Lauren
Thomson and Lindsay Barrowclough each had one goal.
The Rams outshot the Crusaders 20-2 in the game.
In the men's game, the Rams got goals from Darren Spong,
Daniel Waters and Logan, who scored the game-winner in overtime.
The men's team picks up their first victory of the season
to improve to 1-2-2 on the year. They will host Mid-Continent
College, Saturday evening at 7 p.m in their next game. The women's
team will travel to St. Louis, Missouri this weekend to face both Baker
College
and Missouri
Baptist University.
