Lady Rams thump Loyola 11-1
MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's soccer team ran its winning streak to 6 games behind Kelly Baltieri, Anna Ellingsen, Dernelle Mascall, and a slew of other contributors.
Baltieri, the reigning GCAC and Region XIII Player of the Week, scored three goals and tacked on one assist in Mobile's romp. The senior from Brazil has now scored in each of the last six games. Her first goal came with the game tied at 1-1 at the 17:30 mark. With the Lady Rams' struggling to put the ball in the back of the net, Baltieri answered the call with a 25 yard blast to put the team up for good.
Ellingsen finished the match with 1 goal and 3 assists. Her goal came at the 6:30 mark with Mobile trailing 1-0. The sophomore midfielder broke past the defense and beat the goalie by knocking the ball to the far post to tie the game and get the Rams' attack moving.
Mascall scored two goals in the conference match, with both looks coming on assists from Ellingsen. Mascall's first goal came off a corner, when she leapt in the air and knocked the ball past the goalkeeper. Her second and final goal came when Ellingsen set her up for a one-on-one opportunity with the goalkeeper.
These three were not alone in their productivity, as Rebekah Griffin, Kathryn Howard, Camilla Hovden, Rose Clemenson, and Terri McCreadie all put the ball in the net as the Lady Rams moved to 8-2 on the season.
Mobile returns to the field Saturday, September 30th at HOME at 4:00 against Milligan College.
