7 game win streak comes to an end for the Lady Rams

MOBILE, Ala-- The University of Mobile Lady Rams' soccer squad dropped a home match to Belhaven, 3-1 Tuesday to fall to 9-3 on the season.

Things looked good early for the Lady Rams, as they jumped ahead 1-0 just 3:20 into the match. That's when Terri McCreadie fed the ball to Camilla Hovden, who kicked the ball into the back of the net before the pass had a chance to hit the ground.

Aside from taking the early lead, Mobile dominated in the shots taken category, finishing with 13 more than the Blazers (21-8). The Lady Rams took 10 more shots in the first half, but that did not add up to more goals.

At the 25:30 mark, Belhaven got a breakaway goal to even the score. The score remained the same going into halftime.

Mobile failed to pose a threat in the second half, and Belhaven scored twice, including a game-turning penalty kick at the 69:30 mark. 9 minutes later, Belhaven capped the scoring with another breakaway shot into the far corner of the net.

The Lady Rams are now 9-3 on the season and 4-1 in GCAC play. Their next match is October 10th at William Carey.
