The University of Mobile’s Kelly Baltieri was named GCAC and Region XIII Player of the Week, the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference announced Wednesday. Baltieri scored 6 goals and added on 2 assists over three games to earn the honors. She also knocked home game-winners against GCAC foe Loyola and Reinhardt College. This is the second straight week that Baltieri has won both awards. She and the Lady Rams are 9-3 on the season, including a 7-1 mark over their last 8 matches. On the season, the senior from Brazil has 12 goals, including a game-winner over 10th ranked Auburn-Montgomery earlier this year. It wasn't just a good individual day for the Rams, as both teams moved up in the newest NAIA Top-25 polls. The Lady Rams moved up 2 spots to #13, after riding a 7 game winning streak to a 9-2 record at the time of voting. The team dropped its most recent game to Belhaven to move its season record to 9-3. The men’s soccer team jumped 4 spots to #20 after evening its record at 5-5 with a victory over William Carey College. Tough competition has helped the Rams move up in the polls. The men travel to Auburn-Montgomery Wednesday, October 11th, while the women travel to William Carey October 10th. -30-
