Baltieri earns honors for 2nd consecutive week

The University of Mobile’s Kelly Baltieri was named GCAC and Region XIII Player of the Week, the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference announced Wednesday.

Baltieri scored 6 goals and added on 2 assists over three games to earn the honors. She also knocked home game-winners against GCAC foe Loyola and Reinhardt College.

This is the second straight week that Baltieri has won both awards. She and the Lady Rams are 9-3 on the season, including a 7-1 mark over their last 8 matches. On the season, the senior from Brazil has 12 goals, including a game-winner over 10th ranked Auburn-Montgomery earlier this year.

It wasn't just a good individual day for the Rams, as both teams moved up in the newest NAIA Top-25 polls.

The Lady Rams moved up 2 spots to #13, after riding a 7 game winning streak to a 9-2 record at the time of voting. The team dropped its most recent game to Belhaven to move its season record to 9-3.

The men’s soccer team jumped 4 spots to #20 after evening its record at 5-5 with a victory over William Carey College. Tough competition has helped the Rams move up in the polls.

The men travel to Auburn-Montgomery Wednesday, October 11th, while the women travel to William Carey October 10th.
