Women’s Soccer Set to
Host UM Tournament of Friends
MOBILE, Ala. – The University of Mobile women’s
soccer team will host the UM Tournament of Friends beginning on Friday
Oct. 17 and continuing play through Saturday Oct. 18.
The tournament will feature the University of Mobile,
Spring Hill College, the University of North Alabama and North Georgia
University. Mobile will play the University of North Alabama in the first
game of the tournament set for Friday Oct. 17 at 5 p.m. The other game
that night will feature Spring Hill College vs. North Georgia University
at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, Spring Hill College will play against
the University of North Alabama at 4 p.m. followed by UM vs. North Georgia
University at 6:30 p.m.
UM is currently at 3-8 on the season and in the midst
of a six-game losing streak. UM is currently tied for sixth in the region
with North Georgia who they will face on Saturday night. Since the
regional tournament accepts only the top six teams, the winner of this
match will have an inside track to the Regional XIII Tournament set to
begin on Nov. 13.
Last time out, the Rams dropped a 4-2 decision at the
hands of Saint Francis of Indiana. After this tournament, the Rams will
face Belhaven College and Covenant College at home before finishing the
regular season at Loyola University.
