UM's McCreadie honored for game-winning goal

MOBILE, Ala-- The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference announced Tuesday that University of Mobile's Terri McCreadie was named the women's soccer Player of the Week.

McCreadie and the Lady Rams went 2-1 on the week, including an amazing double-overtime victory over 8th-ranked Covenant College. Both of McCreadie's 2 goals on the week came in the overtime contest.

The freshman forward from Brampton, Ontario scored first and last for the Lady Rams, as they overcame a 3-goal deficit in the second half. McCreadie knocked home her first goal at the 58-minute mark to cut the lead to 3-1. She then had one of the biggest shots of the season just 1 minute into the second overtime period. That's when she raced down the sideline and fired a shot across the front of the goal, bending it just inside the far post for the improbable 4-3 come-from-behind victory.

The freshman now has 11 goals and 4 assists on the season.
