Lady Rams Season Comes To An End

Hattiesburg, MS- #13 William Carey University women’s soccer advanced to the 2007 GCAC Championship Game with a 3-0 victory over the University of Mobile.

The Lady Crusaders wasted little time in getting on the board as GCAC Player of the Year Shannon Steffan scored her tenth goal of the season in only the 2nd minute of play.

But Mobile didn’t buckle under the Carey offensive attack and with four key saves from keeper Susanne Klungtveit the Lady Rams went into the half trailing only 1-0.

In the second half, the Lady Crusaders continued on the attack and finally broke through in the 69th minute with a goal from Natailie Nino.  Carey didn’t stop their and Linda Garcia added another goal only a minute later to cap off the scoring.

The Lady Rams' season comes to an end with a 3-12-2 record.
