Lady Rams step it up on senior night
MOBILE, Ala-- On senior night at the Jungle, it was a freshman that stepped up to lead the Lady Rams to a victory over Spring Hill in their final regular season game of the year.
Seniors Kelly Baltieri, Inga Johannesdottir, Rose Clemenson, Nicola Sheridan, and Lindsay Barrowclough were honored before the game, but freshman Terri McCreadie is the one that dominated the game.
The forward from Brampton opened the scoring with a goal from point-blank range off a look from Dernelle Mascall in just the 5th minute of the game. McCreadie struck again 11 and a half minutes later when she knocked home a beautiful ball from Sunniva Haaland. The half ended with the Lady Rams up 2-0, but Spring Hill wasn't going down quietly.
Jennifer Huber opened the second-half scoring up with a shot in a crowded box that found the net at the 60:30 mark. With the lead cut in half, McCreadie crossed the ball into the box, where teammate Anna Ellingsen punched it off the mitt of the Badgers' keeper for the final 3-1 score.
Mobile out shot the Lady Badgers 14-3 in the game and swept this year's series, 2-0.
Mobile will leave for Shreveport on Monday morning to prepare for the Region XIII Tournament. They will play at Louisiana State University- Shreveport on Tuesday in the first round.
