Four
University of Mobile Women Soccer Players Honored with
Post-Season Awards
MOBILE, Ala. –
Four University of Mobile women soccer players were honored
this week with post-season awards including senior Allison
Miller who received Academic All-American honors as well as
Region XIII Second-Team honors.
“Allison was our
defensive leader on the field this season,” said UM coach
Uwe Tittl. “We will miss her leadership dearly, both on and
off the field. I wish her the very best success in life and
hope that we can recruit more players like her for our
program.”
Freshman Rose
Clemensen was named to the Region XIII First-Team in just
her first season with the Rams. Clemensen, a native of
Stouvring, Denmark, led Mobile with 35 points (16 goals, 3
assists) and scored three game-winning goals.
“Rose was our
offensive catalyst this season,” said Tittl. “She kept us
in many games because we were never out of one with her
offensive explosion.”
Also selected to
the Region XIII Second-Team was senior goalkeeper Sara
Cabaniss and freshman forward Kelly Baltieri. Cabaniss
started in goal for the Rams all season making 95 saves and
pitching two shoutouts. Baltieri was second on the team in
goals scored with seven.
“Sara fought
through a lot of adversity this season struggling with
injuries and was still able to keep us in a lot of games,”
said Tittl. “She will be a tough keeper to replace.”
“Kelly was our
most skillful player on the field. Her skill drew a lot of
double-teams and as a result other players were able to get
involved in the offense and excel on the field,” said Tittl.
