Person will begin his first season as head coach of the women's program after serving 6 years as an assistant.  Person began his collegiate playing career at Central Washington University and eventually finished at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks where he graduated in 1998 with a B.S. in Exercise Science.

Person, who earned his MBA from the University of Mobile in May of 2002 with a 3.9 GPA, also has playing experience with Mobile.  A former starter at right back for the Rams, Person also played for the PDL Jackson Chargers in 1998 and 1999.

In addition to his coaching duties, Person was named Assistant Athletic Director prior to the 2004-05 athletic year.

Person is an active member of the NSCAA and has spent the last couple summers working with the regional Olympic Developmental Program. 

Assistant Coach

Kevin Laux

Laux begins his first season on the Lady Rams' coaching staff after serving as a graduate assistant for Spring Hill's soccer program.

Laux is back in familiar territory, as he graduated from the University of Mobile in 2005 with a B.S in psychology and a minor in sports management. He was also a member of the 2002 men's soccer team that won a NAIA National Championship and was the team's 2004 Champion of Character award.

He is currently working on his masters in sports coaching at the Sports Academy. He will work in all aspects of the program and be relied upon heavily in recruiting during his first season.

Assistant Coach

Joel Person

Joel comes to the Lady Rams' coaching staff in a part-time role and will focus mainly on recruiting and on-field coaching. His experience in coaching includes being the head coach of the UMS Wright varsity program for the last 3 years and serving as a graduate assistant for the 2002 UM National Championship squad.

Person has also served as the Director of Coaching for the Mobile Soccer Club, member of the Alabama Olympic Development Program, and has played semi-pro soccer.

He also has gained his USSF B License and National Youth License.

Goal Keepers Coach

Remi Roy

A native of New Brunswick, Canada, Remi Roy is one of the best goalkeepers to have ever worn a University of Mobile uniform. Garnering NAIA All-American honors playing on the 1999 squad that lost in the national championship game of the NAIA National Tournament, Roy has since spent time with the MLS Columbus Crew and has worked camps for them dealing exclusively with the goalkeepers.

Roy has also played for the PDL Spokane Shadow, Jackson Chargers, and the Des Moines Menace. Roy served as the goalkeeping player/coach for the A-League Syracuse Salty Dogs and as the head coach for the PDL Syracuse Select in 2003. Has served as both a player/assistant coach for the First Division Virginia Beach Mariners of the United Soccer League. A consummate professional, Roy brings invaluable experience and knowledge of what it takes to be a very technically sound goalkeeper.

Roy is a graduate of the University of Mobile with a degree in Science and Physical Education. He has devoted nine years in playing for his Canadian province and has served as the UM goalkeeping coach since the fall of 2000.

Roy has a USSF “A”, a Level I and Level II goalkeeping licenses. In addition, Roy is on the Olympic Developmental Region III staff, serving as a goalkeeping coach and the head goalkeeping coach for the state of Alabama. He also is serving as the Puerto Rican National Team Goal keeping Coach in preparation for the 2010 World Cup.
