Lady Ram's Soccer Signs Huntsville Native

HUNTSVILLE, Ala-- The University of Mobile women's soccer program announced the signing of Huntsville, AL native Stephanie White to a letter of intent to play soccer beginning next season.

White, a goalkeeper, is currently penciled in as the starting keeper and from all indications, she will be able to handle the challenge.

"She is a great motivator and has great leadership ability," Sparkman High School Head Coach Stacy Junjulas said. "She also exhibits great field presence."

In her high school career, White was named County Keeper of the Year and Honorable Mention at two tournaments. She was also chosen to represent North Alabama in the All-Star Tournament. Aside from the accolades, White brings a lot of intangibles to the table.

"I like to learn about the game and look forward to becoming a leader," White said. "I try to control the defense out on the field."

Everyone that spoke about White, whether it was family, school administrators or past coaches, talked about her dedication to the game and classroom, work ethic and positive attitude. Lady Rams' Head Coach Brian Person is among them, and thinks White will be a valuable addition to the UM school and soccer family.
