Women’s Soccer Squares off with Spring Hill

The University of Mobile women’s soccer team will look for their second win of the season Friday, Aug. 29, when the team will face off against Spring Hill College at 7:30 p.m. on the Spring Hill Campus.

After Midway College forfeited games with both UM and Spring Hill earlier in the week, UM and Spring Hill agreed to play a game tonight at Spring Hill College.  UM (1-1) will return to action for the first time since last weekend’s season opening loss to Brescia University, while Spring Hill (1-0) is coming off a 4-3 overtime win over the same Brescia University team.

“Spring Hill is a good team,” said University of Mobile head coach Uwe Tittl.  "It doesn’t matter who is ranked higher coming into the game.  This is always a game that can go either way.  It’s a rivalry game."

Last season, the two teams split the season series with each team winning at home.  Spring Hill won the first game 4-0, while UM came back and won the regular season finale 2-0.

“We beat them in the final game of the season last year,” said coach Tittl.  “I’m sure they will have revenge on their mind.  I expect a low scoring game.  These games are always a battle.”
