Women’s Soccer Defeats Spring Hill, 1-0
MOBILE, Ala.
– Rose Clemensen scored off a header on a corner kick from teammate
Allison Miller in the 41st minute as the Mobile Rams (2-1)
knocked off the Spring Hill Badgers 1-0, Friday evening on a wet and rainy
night at Spring Hill College.
Mobile, which dominated for nearly the entire first
half, out-shot Spring Hill 12-3 in the first half and forced nine Badger
fouls resulting in 2 yellow cards. Mobile had multiple scoring chances in
the half which included a shot from Miller that cleared the goalkeeper’s
head only to strike the crossbar.
“We came out with a good game-plan and stuck with
it,” said Ram coach Uwe Tittl. "We started the year off a little slow
because we never got to scrimmage or have any live action, but we really
played well tonight.”
In the second half, the Rams defense turned away
several Spring Hill scoring opportunities and winning goalkeeper Sara
Cabaniss made save after save in recording her first shut-out of the year.
“The defense played incredible tonight,” said coach
Tittl. “They really kept us in the game all night.”
