Rams improve to 2-0 after
9-0 sweep of Tougaloo College
NEW ORLEANS, La. -- The University
of Mobile women's tennis team swept Gulf Coast Athletic Conference
opponent Tougaloo College 9-0 at home Saturday afternoon to improve
to 2-0 so far this season.
After winning all three doubles
matches, 8-1, 8-0 and 8-0 respectively, the Rams wasted little time
in sending the vistors home by winning in straight set in all of the
singles matches.

Sherridan defeated Siera Smith 6-2, 6-3 on court one, Tiffany Williams
defeated Taraki Jones 6-0, 6-0 on court two and Lindsey McDaniel
defeated Cillora Hicks 6-0, 6-1 on court number three. On courts four through
six, Tiffany Crenshaw, Cristen Gracey and Maria Aguiree all dismissed
of their opponent 6-0, 6-0.
In all, the Rams outscored
Tougaloo 72-5 in singles action.
The Rams (2-0) will next be
in action next Saturday, Feb. 19 when they host both conference rivals
Dillard University and defending GCAC Champion, Xavier University beginning
at 10 a.m.
