UMS Women’s Tennis Standout
Signs With UM
MOBILE, Ala. – University of Mobile women’s tennis coach
Uwe Tittl and UMS-Wright Athletic Director Terry Curtis today announced
the signing of Bulldogs standout Megan Mohler. Mohler, an All-County
selection in 2004, is projected to make an immediate impact on the talented
Rams squad.
“We’ve made steady progression to returning to the top of
the NAIA,” Uwe Tittl said, “and Mohler is another tremendous
step toward realizing that goal.”
After nearly making the city of Mobile-hosted NAIA National Tournament
in 2004, the Rams are a win, over cross-town rival Spring Hill College,
away from securing an automatic berth into the tournament.
“Thursday’s match against Spring Hill College is obviously
massive,” Tittl said. “While I’m confident that the
personnel we have now will get the job done, I look forward to having
Megan there in those crucial matches.”
Mohler is no stranger to clutch matches as she’s garnered state
championships at either the singles or doubles arena the last three years.
Additionally, she’s earned distinction with a No. 7 ranking in
Alabama 16s.
“I know UMS will miss her but I also know that they’re going
to keep an eye on her as she enters the next level here at UM,” Coach
Tittle said. “This is a great start to the recruiting season.”
