Lady Rams Fall Short At Nationals
MOBILE, Ala—The University of Mobile women's tennis team ended the 2008 season with a 6-3 loss at the hands of Westmont (Calif.) in the opening round of the 2008 NAIA Women's Tennis National Championship Monday.
The Lady Rams (12-6) ended the season ranked #25 in the NAIA Top-25 and won the GCAC Tournament to help earn the host-berth to the tournament field.
Westmont jumped out to a 2-1 lead after taking 2-of-3 doubles matches and then held on in singles play after Mobile took the No. 1 and No. 2 matches by sweeping the remaining matchups.
