UM Cross Country Competes in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS, Louis-- The University of Mobile men's and women's cross country teams competed in their 3rd event of the year, at the Xavier/Loyola Big Easy Invitational Saturday morning.

Dennis Kimeli paced the Rams, with a 1st-place finish among the men, finishing with a time nearly 17 seconds faster that the closest competitor. Kimeli ran the 8K in 29:00.69. The Mobile men finished in 2nd place at the event, with 49 points. Xavier won with 22 points, while Belhaven finished with 61.

The Lady Rams were led by Sherri McIntosh who turned in a time of 21:30.78 to finish 3rd among all women runners in the 5K. Mary Erin Imwalle of Loyola won the individual honors among the women with a time of 20:36.65.
