Federal Stafford Loan Programs:

Subsidized Stafford Loan Program (FFEL) funds are available to full and half-time students who qualify.  Eligibility is based on financial need, satisfactory academic progress, other financial aid awarded, and credit rating.  A student could possibly receive $2,625 a year as a freshman, up to $3,500 upon reaching sophomore status and up to $5,500 as a junior and senior.  Payment of principal and interest can be deferred until after graduation, withdrawal, or enrollment below a half-time level (six semester hours).  Federal loans are processed on a term-by-term basis during the summer semesters.  A student must be enrolled half-time (six semester hours) during one summer term to qualify for a loan.  Applications are available on-line and in the Financial Aid Office to an outside lending institution.
