Requirements The procedure for applying for financial aid includes: 1. New students to the University of Mobile must complete and submit the University of Mobile Admissions/Financial Aid application. Students who are returning or currently enrolled must complete the University of Mobile Renewal Form for Financial Aid; 2. All students are to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If a student chooses not to complete the FAFSA, it is the student’s responsibility to notify the Office of Financial Aid; 3. All students should complete other specific forms as applicable (i.e., the Alabama Student Grant Form (contact the Financial Aid Office For This Form), or the A. Earl Potts Alabama Baptist State Convention Scholarship application). Applications for all aid programs at the University of Mobile are available on-line or by contacting the Financial Aid Office staff at 251-442-2239. Students desiring to apply for financial aid should begin the application process six or more months prior to the expected date of enrollment. PRIORITY IN THE AWARDING OF ALL FINANCIAL AID WILL BE GIVEN TO STUDENTS WHO SUBMIT REQUIRED APPLICATION MATERIAL BY MARCH 31ST (including the FAFSA). Financial aid is awarded for one academic year or portion thereof, and re-application is required each subsequent year that aid is desired. Most funding agencies require that students meet and maintain the University’s standard of satisfactory academic progress to receive aid. Some scholarships require recipients to have and maintain a higher academic standard.
