- Don’t expect your parents to fill out
all your paperwork for you. You need to become involved
in the process.
- Apply for Admission so that you receive
our Scholarship Application Packet and the FAFSA.
- Apply for financial aid prior to March
31st in order to get the best results.
- Read the instructions. Complete
all forms thoroughly and accurately because errors cause
delays.
- Copy everything and keep a financial
aid file at home containing of all your financial aid correspondence.
- Check local civic, religious, and business
organizations for scholarship possibilities. Also,
look for free scholarship searches on the Web.
- Respond promptly to our request for additional
information.
- Be sure to list the UM code 001029 on
your FAFSA.

- You must reapply for federal aid every
year.
- Your financial aid could be reduced if
you do not enroll full time.
- It may take up to three months to complete
all the paperwork necessary to receive federal aid.
- You may be required to repay financial
aid if you have received money off you account and then you
withdraw from school.
- Missing an important deadline could seriously
limit the amount of financial aid which you will receive.
- Don’t forget- Apply early! If you complete
your FAFSA in July or later, your money will probably not
be ready by the first day of school.
