Individuals who work with Impact Alabama spend a year of service after graduation at a unique, nationally recognized organization fighting poverty in Alabama. Impact seeks highly motivated, talented graduates to fill full-time staff positions that implement and oversee two nationally unique initiatives based upon a collaboration with twenty colleges across the state of Alabama: FocusFirst and SaveFirst. SaveFirst trains college students to provide free tax preparation services, financial literacy seminars, and opportunities for savings and economic improvement to working families in Alabama.

When you work with FocusFirst, you will (1) organize and plan training seminars for students at participating campuses; (2) lead vision screenings across the state for low-income preschoolers, the majority of whom would never have seen an eye doctor otherwise; (3) assist in the expansion of a statewide plan identifying target communities for vision screenings.
