What does Miss UM do?
- Serves as an official ambassador at university events
- Competes for scholarships in June 2009 at the Miss Alabama Pageant,
a preliminary to the Miss America Pageant
- Promotes a service platform of her choice in the community
How do I become Miss UM?
Contestants must have a 3.0 GPA and compete in five areas of competition:
- Private Interview (25%)
- Swimsuit (15%)
- Talent (35%)
- Evening Wear (20%)
- On-Stage Question (5%)
What does Miss UM receive?
- Full tuition for one year - $13,50
- $1,000 wardrobe allowance
- Gifts and prizes valued at over $2,500
