UM Students Part of New Barbershop Quartet

Dr. Alan Miller, assistant professor of music at the University of Mobile, will conduct four UM students in a Barbershop Quartet this semester. The four men will sing in the barbershop style: unaccompanied and in four-part harmony. The group will sing for school and civic events throughout the year.

The members of the quartet are Luke Veazey, first tenor; Nick Yarborough, second tenor, Jordan Van Matre, baritone; and Jason O’Neal, bass.

Upcoming performances include the UM Scholarship Banquet on Oct. 13 at the Mobile Convention Center, which will feature Newt Gingrich as keynote speaker. The Barbershop Quartet will also sing at UM’s Christmas Spectacular on Nov. 29 at Dauphin Way Baptist Church in Mobile.
