UM Announces Members of Wind Ensemble The University of Mobile Wind Ensemble is in another performance season. The large concert band performs both sacred and secular materials, which are played in traditional and contemporary music settings. Under conductor Randy Davis, assistant professor of music at UM, the Wind Ensemble performs in local churches and schools, and at civic events. The group performs an annual concert. They will also play with orchestra and strings at the UM Christmas Spectacular on Nov. 29 at Dauphin Way Baptist Church, and at the Durufle' Requiem with the University Singers in February 2006. Members this year include Nathan Woodward, Leah Kathryn Mills, Jemelia Rainer, Elizabeth Kelly, Rebecca Goodwin and Danielle Ruffin on clarinet; Jessica Dorman, Joel Leonard, Hunter Wylly, Randy Howe, Jonathan Hart and Matt Brashier on percussion; Ray Harper, Brad Threadgill, Brad Cleveland, Kyle Crutchfield and Tyrone Williams on trumpet; Daniel Ayotte, Jeremy Messer, John Sorrell and Jason Montz on trombone; Christopher Anest, Matthew Goins and Stephen Johnson on tuba; Nathan Woodward, Zachary Byrd and Doug Weathermon on saxophone; Nathan Neely and Nathan James on French horn; Steven Booker and Melissa Latham on oboe; Wendi Trippi on bassoon; Duston Moore on baritone and Meagan Burns on flute. The University of Mobile is a private university affiliated with the Alabama Baptist State Convention. Over 1,800 students are enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs in the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business, School of Christian Studies, School of Education, School of Leadership Development and School of Nursing.
