Honor Society Inducts The University of Mobile chapter of Alpha Chi National Honor Society inducted new members during the fall semester. Alpha Chi is a coeducational society whose purpose is to promote academic excellence and exemplary character among university students and to honor students who deserve distinction. Alpha Chi admits its membership to students from all academic fields and draws from the top 10 percent of the junior and senior classes. The local chapter of Alpha Chi was installed at UM in 1978. The Alpha Chi sponsors are UM faculty members Drs. Elizabeth French, Elizabeth Flanagan, and Garrison Thompson. Inductees are Andrea Allen, Zachary Ariail, Amy Blackman, Natalie Corgill, Kimberly Dolan, Elita Friesen, Rachel Geoghagan, Amanda Hardy, Stephanie Hedden, Jeffery Jacobs, Carol Sue Madison, Christy Melton, Jana Pavlus, Lydia Peters, Tiffani Plant, Melissa Pledger, Margaret Raiford, Kinga Rybarczyk, Stacey Sherrer, Melissa Sullivan, Emily Taylor, and Nathan Thompson. The University of Mobile is a Baptist-affiliated university located in Mobile, Ala. Over 1,800 students are enrolled in associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s programs in the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business, School of Christian Studies, School of Education, School of Leadership Development and School of Nursing.
