Church Cookbook to Fund “United in Faith, A Collection of Recipes and Memories from Westside Baptist Church” is a cookbook that will change lives.
Church members of Westside Baptist Church in Jasper, Ala., compiled a book of recipes in memory of church member Emily Burke Anderson, who passed away in a car accident in 2005. Dr. Fred Lackey, special assistant to UM president Mark Foley, is pastor of Westside Baptist Church. Lackey said he had known Anderson all of her life and had the privilege of pastoring five generations of her family.
Marilyn Foley is coordinating efforts to send “United in Faith” cookbooks to faculty and staff of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary who lost their homes and possessions during Hurricane Katrina. Donations can be made for the cookbooks in the UM President’s Office. All cookbook proceeds will go to the “Emily Burke Anderson Scholarship Fund” at the University of Mobile. The cookbook will be available for purchase in the UM President’s Office. The cost is $12.50. For more information, call Mrs. Foley at 251-442-2544 or email mfoley0951@aol.com.
