UM Welcomes New Faculty The University of Mobile is pleased to welcome new faculty for the fall 2005 semester. The following have joined the UM faculty: Mrs. Cindy Lober, the associate professor of nursing, holds both B.S.N. and M.S.N. degrees from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. She was first employed with Mobile College in 1975 through 1980 as an instructor in nursing. She then served as an assistant professor in nursing in 1981 through 1985. For the past four years, she has served as a nurse educator at Thomas Hospital. Dr. Nancy Gautier, professor of mathematics and computer information systems, holds an A.S. in computer science and a B.S. in mathematics from Southeastern Louisiana University, an M.N.S. in mathematics and computer science, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Louisiana State University. She previously served as faculty member and chair of the University of Mobile CIS Department from 1996-2002 and then held faculty positions at the University of South Alabama and Spring Hill College. Dr. John Gwin, a visiting professor in marketing, holds a B.S. in business administration from Auburn University, an M.B.A. from the University of Georgia, a Ph.D. in marketing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.S. in counseling from the University of South Alabama. He spent nearly 25 years on the faculty of the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia and currently owns a consulting firm. Mr. Eric Imsand, assistant professor of CIS, holds both a B.S. and an M.S. in computer science from Auburn University. He has completed coursework for the Ph.D. in Computer Science at Auburn University and is in the dissertation phase. His research interests include artificial intelligence/machine learning, distributed denial of service detection, computer/network security and network simulation. |
