Center for Adult Programs Students Use Mobile Bay as Their Classroom

University of Mobile Center for Adult Programs students of instructor Jane Nall’s marine biology class spent Saturday, Feb. 9 at Dauphin Island, Ala., collecting specimens while on the research ship Verrill. The BIO 103 class members ate lunch at the Sea Lab and participated in a lab activity while touring the Estuarium.

Students observed the tremendous biodiversity of sea life in Mobile Bay from the specimens. They also observed plankton and a variety of benthos, enjoyed watching a pod of bottlenose dolphins behind the ship and viewed numerous species of birds.
