University of Mobile Students Unite to Raise Money for Local Ministry

UM UnitedThe University of Mobile will present UM United, a worship experience for the campus and community, on Friday, Feb. 15 at 6:30 p.m. at First Baptist North Mobile. A variety of singers and instrumentalists from UM’s campus, including the University Singers and praise teams, will lead the casual evening of worship, which was created to unite the campus and community around a common cause.

A suggested $5 donation will be taken at the door and a mission offering will be received. All proceeds of UM United will go to purchase a used passenger van for Light of the Village, a ministry that serves the children and families of the Alabama Village through after-school tutoring, Sunday morning worship services, and by meeting their physical needs. University of Mobile students have been tutoring and serving at Light of the Village over the past two years. The goal for UM United is to raise $10,000 during the one-night event.

“UM United is a modern worship experience featuring songs by contemporary songwriters including Hillsong, Lincoln Brewster, Christ Thomlin, and original songs by University of Mobile students,” said UM’s Director of Worship Choir Jason Breland and worship pastor at First Baptist North Mobile.
