UM Announces
The University of Mobile Alumni Association approved four new officers at the group’s fifth annual summer Alumni Brunch. The new officers are Janeice Hales deLange, ’89, president; Tony Harman, ’89, president elect; Sarah Warnock Moss, ’04, secretary/ treasurer; and Josh Jones, ’02, past president. Currently serving as committee chairpersons are Ira Bates Jr., ’04, community projects committee; and Tony Harman, by-laws committee. Alumni board members include Tommy Ankerson, ’00; Ira Bates Jr.; Melissa Mattox Harman, ’90; Erin Will Harris, ’96; Karen Perkins Hicks, ’78; Barbara Johnson, ’04; Tommy McMullan, ’81; Allison Miller, ’01; Mary Reeves Shirey, ’89; Michelle McBenge Wilson, ’02; and Matt Wilson, ’02. Nearly 80 alumni and guests attended this year’s summer brunch on June 24 at Spot of Tea in downtown Mobile. In addition to presenting new officers, attendees discussed the agenda for 2006-07, including alumni service projects, campus news, and important upcoming dates like UM move-in day, Aug. 12, and homecoming weekend, Oct. 27-28. The University of Mobile is a private university affiliated with the Alabama Baptist State Convention. Over 1,800 students are enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs in the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business, School of Christian Studies, School of Education, School of Nursing and Center for Adult Programs.
