History Professor Receives Rave Review

A book by University of Mobile Associate Professor of History Dr. Lonnie Burnett, titled "The Pen Makes a Good Sword: John Forsyth of the Mobile Register," received an excellent review in the Journal of American History's June 2007 issue. The review cited the 2006 University of Alabama Press publication as "well written, balanced, succinct yet comprehensive." The review adds "...this fine study of a major journalist is a solid contribution to southern history and our understanding of nineteenth-century American politics..."

The Journal of American History is a publication of the Organization of American Historians, the largest professional society dedicated to the teaching and study of American history.
