Marty Vignes Named Vice President for Development at University of Mobile
“Mrs. Vignes has demonstrated a passion for the mission of this university combined with an unshakable determination to achieve it. I am very pleased to see her accept this position and to have the opportunity to work with her through the days ahead,” Foley said. Vignes joined the University of Mobile in 2003 as director of major gifts and was named executive director of development in 2005. As vice president for development, she leads a team that is responsible for the university’s fundraising efforts, including the annual Scholarship Banquet. Her office also coordinates alumni and parent relations, grant writing, and the President’s Advisory Council. “This is an exciting time to be involved with the growth and development of the University of Mobile,” Vignes said. “This university is committed to providing outstanding Christian higher education, with the vision of ‘changing lives to change the world.’ I am pleased to be in a position to communicate that vision with individuals, businesses and organizations who share a desire to impact the lives of students now and in future generations.” Vignes holds a bachelor of arts in communication from the University of South Alabama. She has previously served as director of annual programs and development officer at Spring Hill College in Mobile; as president and CEO of the North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce in Bay Minette, Ala.; and as income development manager for the American Cancer Society in Fairhope, Ala. She and husband Robert live in Bay Minette, Ala., where they are members of First Baptist Church of Bay Minette. More than 1,800 undergraduate and graduate students are enrolled annually at the University of Mobile. The 45-year-old university, located on 800 acres in north Mobile County, is affiliated with the Alabama Baptist State Convention. |
