Evening of Arias and Art Songs
at University of Mobile

The University of Mobile will present the faculty voice recital of Dr. Mihaela Buhaiciuc, assistant professor of music for the Center for Performing Arts, on March 31 at 7 p.m. in Moorer Auditorium, located on campus.

The free concert is open to the public and will feature musical selections composed by Mozart, Ravel, Ciortea, Jora and Grigoriu. Carol Evers, adjunct instructor of piano, will accompany Buhaiciuc on piano. Dr. Patrick Jacobs, assistant professor of music at UM, will be a featured artist.

Buhaiciuc, a Romanian born soprano, currently holds a master’s and doctor of musical arts degree in voice performance from State University of New York at Stony Brook. She has toured as soloist and lyrical artist throughout Eastern, Western Europe and the East Coast of the U.S.

Nearly 1,600 undergraduates and graduate students are enrolled at the University of Mobile, a private Christian university affiliated with the Alabama Baptist State Convention. The Center for Performing Arts is under the direction of Roger Breland, a member of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame and founder/director for 31 years of the internationally acclaimed contemporary Christian group Truth.
