Students Elected As Leadership in Univ. of Mobile Student Government Association

University of Mobile student Jared Freeman of Prattville, Ala., was elected president of the UM Student Government Association for the 2008-09 school year. Ashleigh Hall of Enterprise, Ala., was elected vice president of the SGA.

Freeman is a sophomore majoring in finance with a minor in theology. He is the son of Tony and Cyndi Freeman of Prattville. The 2006 graduate of Prattville High School is a member of Camellia Baptist Church. He is also a member of the UM cross-country team and University Singers.

Hall is a junior majoring in theology with a minor in psychology. She is the daughter of Heyward and Cindy Hall of Enterprise. The 2006 graduate of Enterprise High School is a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She is also involved with UM’s Campus Ministries as dorm chaplain, Urban Plunge leader and retreat teams. She is currently a part of the SGA senate, a Ram Fam leader, on the intramural sports committee and in the ministerial association.

The SGA is responsible for directing and promoting student activities, enhancing communication between the administration and students, and upholding the Christian ideals and standards of the university.

The University of Mobile is a private university affiliated with the Alabama Baptist State Convention. Nearly 1,600 students are enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs in the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business, School of Christian Studies, School of Education, School of Nursing, Center for Performing Arts and Center for Adult Programs.
