UM 2009 Senior Class Donates Gift to Mike Blaylock Scholarship Fund  

The University of Mobile Class of 2009 honored the late Mike Blaylock by contributing the senior class gift to the Mike Blaylock Scholarship Fund. 

A total of 129 seniors contributed and UM President Dr. Mark Foley matched each gift, bringing the total senior class gift to $3,210. 

“Mr. Blaylock made a huge impact in students’ lives, and the Class of 2009 wanted to do something to honor him. What better way than to provide ongoing scholarships to students,” said Elizabeth Mahan, director of alumni. 

The Mike Blaylock Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to University of Mobile students in honor of the vice president for campus affairs. Blaylock, who died Dec. 29, 2008, was a popular college administrator known for encouraging students and making a difference in their lives. The scholarship fund continues that legacy.
