Two University of Mobile vocal ensembles have been invited to perform at the White House during the Christmas season, according to Roger Breland, director of the UM Center for Performing Arts. The 16-member VOICES of Mobile ensemble and the RamTonz men’s quartet will perform Dec. 20 while guests tour the President’s home and view Christmas decorations. This is the second consecutive year that VOICES has been recognized nationally with an invitation to perform at the White House, and the first invitation for RamTonz. Both groups are under the direction of Dr. Al Miller, assistant professor of music and senior academic fellow in the UM Center for Performing Arts. VOICES members are Lydia Bru, Jenna Housh, Bethany Luzader, Trudie Clark, Kristin Constantine, Kourtney Campbell, Nikki Ellis, Brandi Withrow, Jordan Squires, Andrew Goodwin, Philip Jewell, Phil Mathis, Nick Yarborough, Jamal Trimble, James Berrian and Anthony Willingham. RamTonz members are Jordan Van Matre, Jason O’Neal, Nick Yarborough and Luke Veazey. Also, the students will perform during the University of Mobile Christmas Spectacular on Nov. 28 and 29 at 6:45 p.m. at Dauphin Way Baptist Church in Mobile.
