November 17, 2006 UM Piano Ensemble Announces Members The University of Mobile Piano Ensemble has started another year of outstanding musicianship. The ensemble consists of faculty and students on acoustic pianos performing sacred and secular material in classic, traditional and contemporary music settings. The group gives two annual on-campus concerts featuring multiple pianos on stage and two people playing on each piano for many songs. This year’s faculty performers are Barbara Laurendine, Becky Fox, Carol Evers, Duane Plash, Joyce Sylvester and Teresa Fleming. Students in the ensemble are Emily Ellington, Jaye Herrod, Nancy Kelley, Hannah Shetler, Gwendolyn Trippi, Rachel Williamson, Annalisa Cloud, Carrie Morris, Gene Burrus, Matt Scott, Phil Mathis, Rebeca Doswell, Andrew Buttry, Deborah Harden and Kim Gould. The University of Mobile is a private university affiliated with the Alabama Baptist State Convention. Over 1,600 students are enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs in the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business, School of Christian Studies, School of Education, School of Nursing, Center for Performing Arts and Center for Adult Programs.
