Winter Preview Weekend Nov. 30-Dec. 1

High school juniors and seniors and their parents interested in learning about the University of Mobile, a private Christian university in south Alabama, are invited to attend Winter Preview Weekend on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1.

High school seniors who attend Winter Preview Weekend are eligible for up to $2,000 in scholarships when they enroll at UM for fall semester 2008. For information or to register to attend Winter Preview Weekend, contact Enrollment Services at (251) 442-2273 or 800-WIN-RAMS, by email at adminfo@mail.umobile.edu, or visit the website at www.umobile.edu/admissions and click on “visit the campus.”

During Winter Preview Weekend, students and their families may tour campus, participate in campus events such as the annual Snowman Building Contest and Christmas Tree Lighting, meet UM President Dr. Mark Foley, talk with faculty from all academic programs, learn about financial aid and scholarships, and attend a class. High school seniors may stay overnight in a residence hall.

Nearly 1,600 undergraduate and graduate students attend UM, which is Baptist-affiliated. Tuition is the same for in-state and out-of-state students. The University of Mobile is among the top master’s-level universities in the South, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2008 edition of “America’s Best Colleges,” and had been named one of “America’s Best Christian Colleges” for 11 consecutive years. The university is located just north of Mobile, Ala., and about an hour from Gulf Coast beaches.

UM offers undergraduate and graduate degrees and over 40 areas of study through the College of Arts and Sciences; the Center for Performing Arts; the schools of business, Christian studies, education and nursing; and the Center for Adult Programs.
