Piano Ensemble Performs at UM

The University of Mobile Piano Ensemble performed its fall concert on Oct. 23 in Moorer Auditorium. The ensemble is under the direction of Barbara Laurendine, adjunct instructor of music in the UM Center for Performing Arts. The fall concert featured 22 pianists, with multiple pianos onstage. Works by John Phillip Sousa and Johannes Brahms are among the featured pieces, along a variety of arrangements including “Thanksgiving Trilogy” arranged by Don Phillips and “Shout to the Lord” by Darlene Zschech. The next concert will be March 25, 2008, in Moorer Auditorium in Thomas T. Martin Hall. The concert is free and the public is invited. For more information, call the CPA at (251) 442-2420.
